Thorsten Claus
Senior Investment Manager, T-Venture of America, Inc.

Thorsten Claus is a Senior Investment Manager with T-Venture. Thorsten helps to create and grow businesses for web-based services, telecom enablers, transport network, and datacenter solutions. He engineers product and service innovations, raises money, and creates and executes strategies for a flat and free world.

T-Venture is the corporate Venture Capital group of Deutsche Telekom Group and T-Mobile. T-Venture focuses on information and communication technology solutions (ICT) for businesses and consumers. Their investments range from seed stage to pre-M&A activities and help companies to grow and access global markets.


Duncan Davidson
Managing Director, Bullpen Capital

Duncan is a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist. Currently, he is Managing Director at Bullpen Capital (bullpencap.com). Before founding Bullpen, Duncan was a Managing Director at Vantage Point Venture Partners for six years. Duncan has been involved with a number of startups, including: Chairman of Xumii, mobile social networking, recently bought by a leading mobile software company; Founding CEO of SkyPilot Networks, outdoor wireless mesh systems for last-mile access, recently bought by Trilliant; Founding Chairman of Covad Communications (AMEX: DVW), the leading independent DSL access provider; and senior executive at InterTrust Technologies, the pioneer in digital rights management technologies, now owned by Sony and Philips. He is on the boards of AggregateKnowledge, AllVoices, Livescribe, and Verismo. Duncan’s interests include: broadband, WiFi, digital media, digital convergence, mobile apps, and broadband apps.


Anurag (Anu) Nigam
Sand Hill Angels, BuzzBox.com Founder and CEO

Anurag (Anu) Nigam is a serial entrepreneur, an active angel investor and a community leader. He has been an active angel investor for the last 8 years putting his money into 40+ companies including 3Tera (bought by CA), Modcloth and XGraph. His investing interest range from consumer internet to medical devices. He is a member of the Sand Hill Angels, a group of 60 Silicon Valley angels investing in innovative technology companies, and a former President & Board Director of SHA Anu has been part in starting 5 different startups. He was on the founding teams at Cerent Corp (bought by Cisco) and Siara Systems (bought by Redback Networks). Anu switched into the consumer internet space and was an investor & founder of hi5.com. He is currently the founder and CEO of BuzzBox.com, a mobile platform for developers.

Anu is an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate from Carnegie Mellon University and is on the board of the Andrew Carnegie Society at CMU. He is also on the board of the Zero Divide Foundation and advises other non-profits. He is passionate about entrepreneurship actively mentoring many startups and social enterprises. Tom Chiu
Sand Hill Angels, IPforAsia Founder

Tom Chiu has over 20 years of experience in various high tech industries including mobile software, consumer electronics, wireless, patent sales/license, semiconductors, and embedded systems. Tom is currently the founder of IPforAsia, an intellectual property marketplace to bridge between Greater China and large U.S. corporations.

Tom has worked in Shanghai from 2003-2007 as a founding member of Philips Software. He was responsible for mobile middleware business development and sales in Greater China. Prior to the expatriate assignment, Tom was the lead of Philips Connected Home initiative. The project later became the blueprint of Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). Tom also represented Philips in the WiFi Alliance as secondary board member and Chair of DLNA China Task Force. He has held various director positions at Sina.com, Philips and NXP. Recently, Tom has strategically positioned NXP Software as a key contributor into Android 2.0 and 3.0 multimedia framework.

Tom has been an active angel investor for over 10 years. He serves on several advisory boards and has a passion to work with startups in mobile space.
