Laura Merling: SVP of Platform/Apps Strategy, Alcatel Lucent

I have been in the tech industry for over 20 years watching
technologies come and go, and sometimes even get reincarnated. Do you
remember when 4GL was all the rage? Or maybe PRM before it became part
of CRM? And then of course the world of ASP that has come back bigger
and better as Saas, Paas, and Cloud Computing. My how things change
but stay the same.

Throughout my career I have worn many hats ? from coder to product
manager, marketing person to sales and business development, and yes
even CEO of a high tech no-profit for developers! Having done all of
these roles helps put things in perspective which I hope to share with
you on this blog.

The world of API's is where I am at today. Helping companies figure
out how to transform their business with the help of a three letter
acronym.
